Briar Cottage was purchased by a client, who was downsizing from a much larger property nearby. Planning approval was gained for a two storey side extension and rear conservatory extension to what was a very small cottage house in a state of dereliction. Significant works to the original section of the house was carried out in order to modernise this period property without compromising the character of this charming house. The project was completed in 2010, while Hugo was working for Snell David Architects, as the project architect.
