Originally a small, 2.5 bed, 1 bathroom, semi-detached farm workers cottage built in 1900, Farm Cottages lies on the edge of a thriving Hampshire village, surrounded by horse paddocks and the parish church within view. Our clients desperately needed more living space and accommodation for their family, as well as addressing the immediate issues regarding upgrades to all the utilities going in and out of the house. DDA were careful in their design approach, as the clients were concerned about the impact of the development, especially looking onto the front of the property. Planning approval was granted for a 2-storey extension, which resulted in a sixty five percent up-lift in floor area, allowing for a 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom family house.
